End of the year 2004, Messrs. NewLong Industrial Company Ltd. (NLI), Tokyo, Japan, acquired the
SOS-Bag Making and Shopper-Bag Making Machine Program of Messrs. Fischer & Krecke, Bielefeld,
as well as the production program Multi-wall Sack Making Machines and Icoma Automation Technology
of Messrs. Maschinenbau Kochsiek GmbH, Bielefeld.
This range of machines and associated equipment will be manufactured in Japan under the brand name KONLI.
The target of this acquisition is to strengthen the international position of Messrs. NewLong Industrial Co. Ltd.
with additional high-level technical products. The purchase of these additional products will, in the future,
supplement the well established ranges of Newlong machinery, which have enjoyed success over several decades,
in the upper market segment. This will create a sound basis for new and further developments.
The original company NewLong was founded in the year 1941 by Mr. Cho (sen.).
All business activities relating to the acquired product ranges of Fischer & Krecke and Kochsiek are already
handled from one source. The service and spare parts supply for equipment delivered in the past is taken over by
KONLI. Access to all necessary documents by KONLI is already effective today.
To guarantee an efficient merger of all business activities and to ensure a smooth cooperation,
a sales and maintenance company, KONLI (Kochsiek and NLI GmbH), has been established
within the site of Fischer & Krecke in Bielefeld.
